8 Punjab candidates’ papers on women/technocrat seats accepted

LAHORE: Punjab Provincial Election Commission has accepted the papers of eight Punjab candidates on technocrat and female seats, while three independent candidates; papers were rejected.

Provincial Election Commission Sunday morning announced accepting the papers of PPP’s Sughra Imam, Shahida Jabeen, Kazim Khan, Dr. Muhammad Akbar Khawaja, while ML-N’s professor Sajid Mir, Begum Najma Hameed, Zakia Khan and ML-Q’s Syed Mushahid Hussain and Rozina Alam Khan.

The candidates whose nomination papers were rejected included Muazzam Iqbal Gul, Dr. Amjad Hussain, Khan and women candidate Adiba Ashraf.

Talking to media on this occasion PPP leader, Qasim Zia said that talks of an alliance with ML-Q not yet concluded.
